Oo-an's real name is Surasit Saraprom. He's 37 years old and showing signs of AIDS via lesions all over his body. His health has been bad this last month. He has lost seven kilogrammes over the last month.
''It's working in the band. You practice and practise until you start to get sick. I have to learn to take it easy. I play chord guitar for HIV Band. I enjoy it, but there have been some rifts in the band this last week. Some of the guys are trying to force me out, coz there's another guitarist who has come to live at the temple who they think is better than me. I don't want to go, though. Hopefully, this problem can clear itself up.
''Playing this music gives me a pourpose in my life. That's all I can say. I want us to tour overseas, to show people that when you have AIDS, you don't need to turn around and die like so many people do. Other than that, we can promote the temple. I want to go to Australia. I'm hoping I can get there before I die!''
